Le Prix Alexis de Tocqueville, créé en 1979 par Pierre Godefroy, député de Valognes, et Alain Peyrefitte, est décerné par le Jury franco-américain du Prix Alexis de Tocqueville, présidé par Valéry Giscard d’Estaing. Il récompense tous les deux ans une oeuvre reconnue dans le domaine des sciences politiques et qui s’inscrit dans la lignée libérale de Tocqueville.
Le prix 2010 est attribué à Monsieur Zbigniew Brzezinski, politologue américain d’origine polonaise.
